JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – The Red Wolves have touched down at The Bank.

Arkansas State men’s basketball kicked off preseason practice Wednesday night at First National Bank Arena. It’s year 5 under the guidance of head coach Mike Balado. 13 players are back from a team that reached the Sun Belt quarter-finals. This includes Sun Belt freshman of the year Norchad Omier and All-SBC goaltender Marquis Eaton.

A-State has a lot of NEA flavor in Eaton, Avery Felts, and Desi Sills. Sills transferred to the Red Wolves this summer after experiencing the Elite Eight with the Razorbacks.

Podcast was satisfied after day 1: “Great first day. I’m telling you what, it was competitive as everyone is doing. I had a few workouts where things got pretty hot which was good. The guys are fighting over playing time, the guys are performing well. You can see the veteran players because they know what’s going on. And we’re a little more head start than usual on the first day. So it was a very good practice.

The State of Arkansas will be holding its 4th annual Boots and Ballers event Thursday at the First National Bank Arena. At the event, fans can watch practice, meet the team and more.
