Baylor Bears men’s basketball lands top 30 rookie Jason Asemota for Class of 2024
Jason Asemota, a top-30 junior, signed to Baylor on Saturday.
Asemota was visiting the Bears campus in Waco over the weekend when he decided to end his recruiting.
“The program has a history of wins and player development,” Asemota said. “They made me a priority in their recruitment through their actions and their words. Every staff member reached out at different times.”
A 6-foot-9 forward from Hillcrest Prep, Arizona, Asemota is ranked No. 29 in ESPN 60 for the Class of 2024. He becomes the highest-ranked junior to ever commit to college.
Asemota has terrific stance size for a forward stretch that can make shots from the perimeter. He averaged more than three 3s per game during the month of July, while shooting 34% of his pull and catch attempts.
Asemota becomes Scott Drew’s first commitment in the 2024 class, but he’s already ensuring Baylor has a top-30 rookie for the fourth straight year.
