Carmel Cagers wins the B’ball tournament | Patna News

Patna: Carmel High School won the under-17 and 14-year-old inter-school basketball zonal tournament organized by it under the aegis of Association of Schools for Indian School Certificate (ASISC). The Mount Carmel Lohia Nagar team finished second and St Joseph’s Convent High School, Patna won third prize in the U-14 group.
Over 200 students from ICSE-affiliated schools participated in the tournament in the Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 categories.
In the under-17 category, Don Bosco Academy won second prize and St Joseph’s Convent High School finished third.
In the under-19 group, St Joseph Convent High School, Jethli won the trophy while Don Bosco Academy and Carmel High School finished second and third respectively.
“Sport in education is of paramount importance. Students from all schools participated actively. Neeraj Kumar of the Bihar Basketball Association acted as coach. Students from the winning teams he selected will represent the Patna area in the ASISC Regional Basketball Tournament to be held in Ranchi on August 29-30,” said Seema Sinhasports teacher at the host Carmel High School.
Abhijeet Yadav, Rahul Kumar Tiwari, Rahul Kumar Sahani and Amardeep Kumar from the Bihar Basketball Association were invited as referees.
