Connecticut signs Odyssey Sims

Uncasville, CT – The Connecticut Sun announced today that the team has signed Odyssey Sims to a seven-day contract. Per team policy, no details have been released.

Sims was drafted second overall in the 2014 WNBA Draft by the Tulsa Shock and played in the league for eight seasons. She started her career playing two seasons with Tulsa and also made stops in Dallas, Los Angeles, Minnesota and Atlanta. In May 2022, Sims resigned with Minnesota and appeared in two games before a mutual parting ways with the team.


In her 235 league games, she averaged 12.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.1 steals. The eight-year veteran also earned All-WNBA Second Team (2019), WNBA All-Star (2019) and WNBA All-Rookie Team (2014) honors.

The 5-8 guard from Irving, TX, stood out at Baylor University, leading his team to a national championship in his second campaign. She finished her college career with an average of 17.5 points, 3.3. rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.3 steals per game and led the program all-time in assists (572) and three-point field goals (223).

The Sims will wear number 1 for the Sun and will be available Thursday, August 4 to take on the Phoenix Mercury at 7:00 p.m. EST at Mohegan Sun Arena.
