Golden Gopher Men’s Basketball and the University of Minnesota will host Fan Appreciation Day on Sunday, Feb. 27, before and during their game against Indiana at 5 p.m. It’s also senior night as we honor our eight seniors after the game: Eric Curry, Charlie Daniels, Joey Kern, Luc Loewe, Danny Ogele, Eylijah Stephens, Sean Sutherlin and Payton Willis.
Arrive early to participate in Fan Fest inside the Maturi Pavilion starting at 3 p.m. for a Golden Gophers Fan Shop sale, fun youth activities, inflatables, photos with the Paul Bunyan Ax Trophy, and more ! Plus, there will be discounted food and drink prices for a special edition of Gopher Hour.
Those who attend the pre-game Fan Fest and the game will have several chances to receive samples, prizes and special gifts from Gopher Athletics and Gopher Athletics sponsors.
The first 1,000 fans* will receive a branded hat courtesy of Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union. Participating sponsors include KLN Wiley Wallaby, Mystic Lake, Sun Country, KSTP, Blue Cross, Caribou, MN Lottery, Smude’s, Hormel, Holiday Gas Stations, Kemps, Courtyard Minneapolis, Planet Fitness, Dominos, and more!
Prizes include Gopher fan merchandise in addition to autographed memorabilia, gear, food, gift cards and more. The fun doesn’t stop at tips, we’ll have a ton of in-game prizes for opportunities to win more prizes!
*A limited number of hats will be at the Fan Fest. When the doors to Williams Arena open at 4 p.m., hats will also be located at the Oak St., University Ave and 4th St. entrances.
**Please note that in order to participate in the Fan Fest, fans must have a match ticket.
U DE M STUDENTS:
In addition to all the activities around Fan Appreciation Day, Men’s Basketball is giving away t-shirts to the first 600 Barnyard students and each student will receive a pom pom. As students enter, they will be invited to take a pom pom, as it will serve as a raffle ticket to win a set of specialized equipment from the team. Each pom pom has a special color sticker. Then during the game we will announce which colored sticker is one of our B1G winners.
