Five ready to join the Lions in 2021-2022

NEW YORK – Columbia Men’s Basketball Head Coach Jim Engles added five newcomers to the roster for the 2021-22 campaign. The Lions class of 2025 is made up of guards jaden cooper and Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa as well as before Noah Robledo, Robbie stankard and Jake tavroff.

“These five young men are going to be solid additions to our squad on and off the pitch,” said Engles. “I’m really proud of the work we’ve done on the recruiting front during this unique time during COVID and I think with these additions, mixed with our core of returning players, our program is moving in the right direction. delighted to officially welcome them to Columbia and look forward to working with them in the fall. “

HIGH SCHOOL: 2021 graduate of Spring Creek Academy in Texas… Moved from California to Texas prior to junior season… Played first three seasons at Brookside Christian in Stockton, Calif., Where he won a state championship in his sophomore year and a state runner-up in his junior year… Scored over 2,000 points during his high school career.

STAFF: Born August 26, 2001… Son of Aracelis Margarita and Geronimo Rubio… Has two siblings, Ramon De La Rosa and Helen Rubio… Enrolled in Columbia College.
