FORMER NBPA CHIEF EXECUTIVE MICHELE ROBERTS JOINS NBA ALL-STAR BARON DAVIS TO LAUNCH NEW FAN-CONTROLLED BASKETBALL LEAGUE

The creators of successful fan-controlled football will launch a new hoops league where fans will call the shots in February 2023

ATLANTE, September 15, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Fan Controlled Sports & Entertainment (FCSE), the creators of Football controlled by fans (FCF), announced the launch of a revolutionary basketball league, Fan-controlled hoops (CHF).

Ready to debut on Tuesday, February 7 in Atlanta With four teams, the newly announced FCH will bring the same interactive fan-controlled football (FCF) format to the sport of basketball. FCH will deliver an unprecedented all-court 4v4 hoops brand with unprecedented real-time interactivity with fans. FCH will be the first league played on a dynamic and fully interactive LED pitch, giving viewers a new way to watch and even control the game.

FCH launches with an all-star leadership team that includes former National Basketball Players Association executive director Michele Roberts and NBA legend Baron Davis, who are both strategic advisors. Additionally, Davis will co-own one of the league’s teams. Additionally, after 14 seasons as the legendary commissioner of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), Greg Moore was tapped to lead the day-to-day operations of the league as general manager of FCH.

FCH will build on the huge success of FCF, which received over 30 million total views in the league’s first two seasons, and featured Hall of Famer Terrell OwensHeisman Trophy winner Johnny Manzelnfl star Josh Gordon, and many other NFL players on the field. CWF, which is set to launch Season 3.0 next spring, allowed fans to make key team decisions, select players and call games in real time.

FCH will feature current and former NBA players in various roles, as well as a myriad of celebrities and content creators joining as team owners. The league’s inaugural four teams, owners, players, coaching staff and league rules will be announced in the coming months.

As chief executive of the NBPA from 2014-2021, Roberts was the first woman to lead a major professional sports union in North America. She served as the primary advocate for all NBA players and served as the primary negotiator for all collective bargaining activity.

Davis, who played 13 years in the NBA, was a two-time All-Star and led the NBA in steals for two seasons. He was the frontman of the fan-favorite “We Believe” Golden State Warriors team in 2007. Since retiring from the NBA, Davis has become a fixture in the digital startup scene, helping launch a variety of businesses exciting and Web3 projects.

Prior to becoming general manager of FCH, Moore spent 14 years as commissioner of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), an NCAA athletic conference comprised primarily of historically black colleges and universities. As commissioner, he quadrupled league revenue, eliminated all conference debt, created a seven-figure reserve fund, and added five new colleges and universities as conference members.

FCSE launched its first professional Fan Controlled Football sports league in February 2021and currently has eight teams owned and run by some of the biggest names in the sports, entertainment and NFT communities, including Marshawn LynchQuavo, Richard Sherman, Austin Ekeler, Dalvin Cook, Renee MontgomeryThe Bored Ape Yacht Club, The Gutter Cat Gang, and Steve Aoki.
