The score of the box HOUSTON –Houston’s men’s basketball begins its week with a 77-45 victory over Alcorn State at the Fertitta Center on Monday. Second year care Jamal shead was named player of the game with 11 assists and five rebounds. The Cougars are now 8-1 this season.

• Houston is traveling for its first real road game of the season to meet Alabama’s number 9/9 at 9 p.m. Friday in Tuscaloosa, Ala. This game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
• Houston returns to the Fertitta Center to face Louisiana at 7:00 p.m. on December 14. This game will be broadcast on ESPN +
