Klay Thompson’s potential retirement job after the NBA

When Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson retires from the game, his father Mychal Thompson doesn’t expect him to stay on the professional basketball scene.

Instead, Mychal sees his son embark on the full-time life of “Boat Klay” and tour the world with his trusty watercraft and popular dog Rocco.

“I would be surprised. I’d be shocked if he stayed on the NBA scene, ”Mychal said on KNBR’s“ Tolbert, Krueger & Brooks ”show, according to NBC Sports. “He’s really in the ocean, really in his boat. I could see him get on a boat and just sail around the world – sail the world.

Plus, Patriarch Thompson doesn’t see Klay involved in any basketball activity at all – becoming a coach, scout, analyst, or whatever. For him, it is better to expect the Warriors star to become an “old ship captain” dealing with tourists in the Bahamas.

“Becoming a former ship captain in the Bahamas and taking tourists on trips and stuff. I could see him do that. And if you’ve been to the Bahamas before, you’ll understand why he would want to. It is the most beautiful water for navigation or pleasure in the world.

Considering Klay Thompson’s love for the sea, these comments from his father are not at all exaggerated. And given the personality of the Warriors goalie, it really wouldn’t be surprising if he chose to spend the rest of his post-NBA life sailing.

Before that, however, it will certainly be nice to see the Splash Captain earn one or two more rings with the Warriors before he retires.
