GREAT RIO VALLEY – There are currently at least 14 players who have ever played for the UTRGV men’s basketball team actively playing professional basketball. Here’s a home update some of them are doing, courtesy of Eurobasket:
Janari Joesaar (2014-15) scored 13 points and five rebounds to lead Anwil Wloclawek to a season-opening 82-61 win over Enea Zastal in the Polish EBL on Sunday.
Luis Valera (2008-10) scored five points and five rebounds to help Gigantes de Guayana beat Guaiqueries 91-88 in the Venezuelan SPB on Monday. Valera is averaging 7.7 points and 3.8 rebounds in 23 games.
Terry Winn III (2017-19) scored 29 points with 23 rebounds as the Basketball Akademie Giessen 46ers fell to Saarlouis 64-58 in the season opener.

Julius Allgood (2006-09) plays for Correcaminos de Colon in Panamanian LPB.
Johnny Crnogorac (2017-19) plays for Inner West Bulls in Australia NBL1 East
Isaiah Fontaine (2018-2020) plays for Atleticos de San German in the Puerto Rican BSN.
Shaquille Hines (2012-16) signed with Medipolis Science City Jena in German ProA
Jordan Jackson (2017-20) plays with Ginásio Clube Figueirense Basketball in Portugal’s Proliga.
Javon Levi (2017-21) signed with Dubrovnik in the Croatian Prva Liga
Xavier McDaniel Jr. (2016-18) plays for Flint United in the Basketball League.
Perry Petty (2010-11) playing for Gorgan in the Iranian Superleague
Lew Stallworth (2015-18) plays for Tskhum-Abkhazeti in the Georgian Superleague
Paul Stoll (2006-08) plays for Fuerza Regia de Monterrey in the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Professional and recently coached the Mexico team in the 2022 FIBA AmeriCup.
Lesley Varner II (2016-20) signed with Newcastle Eagles of the British Basketball League.
