Premier League asks refereeing body to review VAR decisions | Basketball

LONDON (AP) — The Premier League has asked England’s refereeing body to review two decisions made after video review on Saturday.
West Ham and Newcastle were disallowed goals which were allowed by the referee on the pitch, following VAR interference.
West Ham manager David Moyes has described as ‘scandalous’ a decision by VAR to disallow what would have been a 90th-minute equalizer by Maxwel Cornet against Chelsea because Jarrod Bowen was found guilty of committing a foul on goalkeeper Edouard Mendy during preparation. Chelsea won 2-1.
In Newcastle, an own goal from Palace defender Tyrick Mitchell was ruled out for what VAR ruled was a foul by Newcastle midfielder Joe Willock on goalkeeper Vicente Guaita. The match ended 0-0.
The review by Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) will look specifically at the two decisions, not the entire VAR operation.
