PREVIEW: Men’s basketball welcomes UMass Lowell to Conference Action
ORONO, ME – The University of Maine men’s basketball team hosts the UMass Lowell Riverhawks on Wednesday, February 2 for our Cancer Awareness Game, sponsored by the Black Bear Inn.
Monday’s game will be broadcast live on ESPN+. The game can also be streamed worldwide on the Black Bears Sports Network and goblackbears.com.

A LOOK AT BLACK BEARS:
The Black Bears will be led in their game against the Riverhawks on hot streaks by Maks Klansjcek and Vukasin Masic.
Klansjcek has scored in double figures in 5 of 8 conference games, with two games for 20+ points. He hit a career high against UNH on Jan. 24 and recently scored 23 against Hartford on Jan. 31.
Masic, the team leader in scoring per game, has scored in double digits in 4 consecutive games, including a career high against UNH on Jan. 24.
A LOOK AT UMASS LOWELL:
The Riverhawks are coming off an overtime loss to UAlbany on Jan. 26, a 64-62 loss.
Allin Blunt dropped 21 points in the losing effort, while Quinton Mincey (9pts, 10 reb) and John Hall (7pts, 13 reb) also contributed.
During the season, Kalil Thomas is currently beating all UMass Lowell scorers, averaging 10.3 points per game. Allin Blunt is hot on his heels for team leader, scoring at 10.2 per contest. Max Brooks currently leads his team with 5.9 rebounds per game.
HISTORY AGAINST UMASS LOWELL:
This game will be the 19th game between these two teams, and the second of the 2021-22 season. The first matchup went the Riverhawks’ way on Jan. 19, 2022, when UMass Lowell won 71-62.
