Razorback doubles semi-final lead in ITF Fayetteville Futures


FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s tennis team finished its fourth day at the ITF Fayetteville Futures with singles and doubles main draws in action.

Junior Adrien Burdet started the day with his Round of 16 match against Radu Mihai Papoe. Burdet lost the first set 2-6, keeping it tight in the second but losing 4-6.

In doubles, the American duo of Foster Rogers and Jake Sweeney was first against Texas A&M’s AJ Catanzariti and Jody Maginley. The pair held a tight 4-6 first set, losing the second 3-6 in their quarter-final match. The Razorbacks Adrien Burdet and Melvin Manuel follow to end the evening. The duo dropped a tough first set 2-6 but knocked it down in the second to force the tiebreaker. It was close with the Arkansas pair leading, 10-8.

Adrien Burdet and Melvin Manuel will play their semi-final match at 1 p.m. CT tomorrow on the first court.
