Rhoden wins NBA Summer League invite from Sacramento Kings
South Orange, NJ – Seton Hall Men’s Basketball Graduate Jared Roden (Baldwin, NY) has accepted an invitation to play for the Sacramento Kings in the NBA Summer League.
The NBA Summer League, an 11-day competition that brings together all 30 NBA teams, will take place July 7-17 in Las Vegas.
Rhoden was one of the top performers in the pre-NBA draft process, starting with his all-tournament appearance at the prestigious Portsmouth Invitational where he averaged 15.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game against some of the best college basketball players in the country. He then traveled to Chicago where he shone at the NBA G League elite camp and was called up to the NBA Draft Scouting Combine. Rhoden worked for several NBA teams before accepting an invitation from the Kings to their NBA Summer League team.
Rhoden was the kingpin of a Seton Hall team that returned to the NCAA Tournament this season and recorded its sixth 20-win season in the past seven years. He was named All-BIG EAST First Team, All-Met First Team by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association, and was named to the NABC and USBWA All-District teams after finishing sixth in the BIG EAST with 15.5 points per game.
The guard is tied for 33rd in program history with 1,270 career points. Rhoden is one of 12 Pirates to record over 1,200 career points and 600 rebounds. He played on three teams that won at least 20 games, two NCAA Tournament teams and was a key contributor to the 2020 team that won the BIG EAST Regular Season Championship.
