USC men’s basketball head coach Andy Enfield receives contract extension through 2027-28

LOS ANGELES – USC men’s basketball coach for ninth year Andy Enfieldwho led the 2022 Trojans to the winningest regular season in school history, signed a contract extension through the 2027-28 season, USC athletic director says Mike Bohn announced today (March 9).

In our three years of working together, our men’s basketball program has enjoyed unprecedented success and the national college basketball landscape has taken notice. “This is a testament to Andy’s leadership in the program, our coaches and support staff, and our talented basketball players. No. 21 USC, seeded third heading into this Thursday’s (March 10) quarterfinal game in the Pac-12 tournament, boasts a 25-6 overall record in 2022, its most consistent wins of the season.
Last season, when Enfield was Pac-12 Coach of the Year (USC’s first winner since 1992), USC went 25-8 and qualified for the NCAA Elite Eight for the second times only in 67 years.
During Enfield’s tenure, the Trojans set the school season win record (26 in 2017) and had the most wins in program history over stretches of 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. years. His 5-game winning streak against Crosstown rival UCLA was USC’s longest against the Bruins since 1943.
Enfield’s overall USC record is 182-116. The Trojans’ 72 wins over the past 3 seasons are third among Power 6 schools and their 60 Pac-12 wins over the past 5 seasons are second in the conference. Over the past 7 years, USC has won 68% of its games (159-75), including 6 seasons with at least 21 wins (over the previous 40 years, USC has won at a rate of 50% and won 20 matches only 6 times).
Enfield has introduced 7 consecutive Top 30 recruiting classes, and next season’s class is ranked sixth nationally. A Trojan has been selected in the first round in the last 3 NBA drafts, including back-to-back lottery picks (Onyeka Okongwu and Evan Mobley).
