WATCH: Oregon Ducks Men’s Basketball Signer Kel’el Ware Helps USA U18 Basketball Team Win Gold

2022 Oregon Signer Kel’el Ware won a gold medal with the USA national team at the FIBA ​​U18 Americas Championship 2022. Team USA defeated Brazil 102-60 in the gold medal final in which Ware scored 21 points and six rebounds on 10-14 shooting.

In six tournament games, Ware averaged 15.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game. He shot an impressive 67.2% from the field and 80% from the free throw line.

Ware scored at least 15 points in all but one game during the gold chase, with a game-high 21 in the title game. Ware’s performance against some of the best junior players in the world sparked talk of his NBA draft stock. He is the No. 9 overall rookie in the Class of 2022, according to 247 Sports Composite, and is Arkansas’ No. 3 center and No. 2 player. He committed to Oregon very soon after a visit and an offer, and he signed his letter of intent in November. He is the third highest ranked player to ever commit to Oregon behind bowl bowl (2018) and Mookie Cook (2023).

The McDonald’s All-American will be one of Oregon’s treasured additions to the 2022-23 roster. The Ducks also brought in JUCO guards Tyrone Williams and Brennan Rigsbyas well as the transfer from Colorado Keesawn Barthelemy and transfer to South Carolina Jerome Couisnard.
